SCULPTOR & CARPENTER
Ben is an award-winning artist who enjoys painting watercolours, sculpture, carpentry & design. During lockdown, Ben and fellow HOT member, Craig Thomson, designed and built a timber-frame house in Glasgow.

CERAMICS STUDIO
Genuine Quirk began with two friends with a drive and passion to create unique handmade ceramics, made and packaged with plastic free, vegan and sustainable materials. Niamh runs the creative side of the business, designing and making all our ceramics. Jamie runs the business side of things: creating a positive customer experience and researching the most eco-friendly ways to create our products.

Samantha Wilson

OPERATIONS & STUDIO ASSISTANT

Glasgow-based artist working across figurative drawing and painting. Sam joined House of Toad in July 2026 as Operations & Studio Assistant, alongside developing her own practice and Slow Burn Studio, an artist-led arts education platform supporting creative development through drawing, workshops, courses and studio-based learning. Her own work explores the human figure through found, personal and institutional imagery, using fragmentation, ambiguity and soft colour.

Transcendental Meditation Glasgow

Transcendental Meditation Glasgow is led by experienced TM teachers Angela Landers and Sarah Bence. Together they teach TM and run group meditations, retreats and events for Glasgow's growing meditation community. Angela brings a background in health and holistic wellbeing, while Sarah also works with the David Lynch Foundation UK, supporting its work bringing TM to people affected by traumatic stress. House of Toad is home to their Glasgow TM community, where they offer teaching, meditation and opportunities to connect.

Genuine Quirk Pottery Studio.

Genuine Quirk was founded in 2021 by friends Jamie and Niamh, driven by a shared passion for pottery and a vision to create a creative community that is welcoming, environmentally conscious and as sustainable as possible.

In 2024, they expanded to running a community pottery studio at House of Toad for people at the beginning of their pottery journey. Their aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive studio where pottery is as accessible as possible.

Our members are encouraged to work independently at their own pace, whether they're complete beginners or developing a more established ceramics practice, with the support of a like-minded community.
