10 weeks - Learn to paint in oils with clarity and confidence.

This course introduces the fundamental skills of oil painting through practical exercises, colour studies and still life projects. Suitable for absolute beginners and those returning to painting.

You will learn to:

• Mix and organise colour using a limited palette

• See and simplify value, temperature and chroma

• Build paintings from large relationships to smaller details

Across the term, students complete a series of colour exercises and still life paintings, developing a practical and cohesive approach to working in oils.

• Small group - maximum 10 students

• Oil paints, mediums, solvents and studio consumables provided
  Students supply their own brushes and painting surfaces

Fridays, 10am – 12.30pm
4 September - 6 November; breaks on 25 September and 16 October

Although this is the third term in the Foundations series, each term is designed to stand alone, and new students are very welcome.
